OMG....try this
25 more situps later i decided to try something. Do 50 toetouches. You know....the ones where you stand with your legs shoulder width apart and touch the opposite foot with the palm of your hand. Alternate feet and do 50. Tell me is the back of your legs burn.......OMG!!
By the way.......
I've lost 2 inches already.....and it's only been a week. Now i'm down to 35 inches. Yippie!!!
The "Routine"
This one time..... at band camp............ ok now seriously, i started the kick again about a week ago. I had slacked off a little on my walking and cheated a little on snacking......but luckily had not gone backwards (at least not by much....5 lbs maybe). Then my boyfriend had his PT test (he's in the air force). To make a long story short....they measured his waist and he had gain a couple of inches, 2 i think. And of course, he challenges me. There was an underlying motive to the challenge, i am certain he noticed the 5 lbs. We had a long discussion about this, let's just say that Women ARE from venus and Men ARE from mars. Anywhoooo.......when i measured my waist to accept the challenge i was devastated. 37 inches.....how could that be. I know i'm not fat. But to put a number on your waist.........DAMN! So i decided to kick it into high gear. No more "just" walking. I needed to start doing "real" exercise. I decided to take up jogging. One lap around our neighborhood is 1/2 mile. Last week when i started i wouldn't even jog halfway around before i was out of breath and ready to walk. I know, i know.......quit smoking. But i'm not ready for that yet. Anyway, now i am up to jogging 2 WHOLE laps.......that's a mile. WOOOHOOO! I am proud of me. And now i have decided to start some more exercising.....you know sit ups, push ups, lunges, etc on a daily basis. I'm gonna set myself a goal each day on how many of each i am going to do (increasing a little at a time) and use YOU to help me track it. Are you up to it? Well.....if you're not.....i am gonna pretend you are for motivations sake. So today i ran 2 laps (1 mile) and set a goal to do 100 situps, 20 dead lifts, 20 lunges, and 20 push ups throughout the day. I've already done 67 situps along with 20 lunges (ouch...they were easy at first) and 33 dead lifts (yey i did extras). OK....so i am procrastinating on the push ups.......i will, i will. Stay tuned....i'll keep you posted.
Let's start..............Here!
Ok.......i'm not afraid to say it!! I am proud of myself!! One of my major accomplishments in the last year has been with myself. And by self....i mean physical self. Last June i was at my all-time largest......weighing in at a whopping 189 lbs (well...he knows where i started now). A year later i weigh about 135 lbs (haven't weighed in a few weeks, but i will soon......long story). After my miscarriage, i was kinda low and decided to focus on myself. Not just be self centered, but actually make changes. No........i did not quit smoking. At least not yet. But i did make changes in how i ate and what i ate. Cut down on portions and started getting a little exercise. At 5'6" and 189 lbs, the weight came off pretty easy with those changes. Now we are down to the nitty gritty. Ever lost a lot of weight in a fairly shory period of time? Let's just say.......skin. Lots of skin. Flabby skin. That's what was left. It's trimmed down some. But now it's time to tone up.....the hard part. So i'm starting the "real" exercising. And maybe i will lose a few more lbs in the process but mostly importantly now.....inches. So.....i will let you know what my plan is
A Little Bit 'O History
Ok......i am a single mother of two girls ages 9 and 7. Been married twice........once divorced, once widowed (almost 2 years ago now). Last July i got into what started as a casual relationship. Well 10 months, a pregnancy and miscarriage, and a move from Columbia to Sumter later, here I am. Who woulda thunk it. Lots of changes in the last year ( story of my life, I'll fill you in as we go along). So the purpose of this blog is kinda like......well........"The Days of 'My' Life". And believe me......it's like a soap opera as you will come to see. My boyfriend once told me, after being with me and seeing the webs of everyone lives around me, that he thought and i quote "i thought this stuff only happened on tv". Stay tuned for more!!
First Things First
OK....this is my new blog. I'm gonna track my life here and share it......lol as if you wanna hear about it. I'm gonna talk about my personal progress in life. I'll track things like my "body" goals and progress, journey through nursing school, the kids, and last but not least my relationships. Sound like fun? More posts will follow to give you an idea of where i am starting.
